The Only Sentence That Matters
I believe Jesus is the Son of God. The words are simple. No syllables to stumble over. No hidden meanings to decode. Yet that single statement carries more weight than any other sentence you will ever speak. Its implications stretch beyond time and history. It is an eternal confession. When the world as we know it passes away, that truth will remain. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) He existed before creation’s first breath, and He will reign long after the last breath of this world. And Jesus Christ—the eternal, unchanging Son of God—is the One who will grant you everlasting life because of your confession.
Truth in a World That Calls You Foolish
But confessing Jesus as Christ is not easy. Not in a world like this. Many in our world view Christians as old-fashioned, out-of-touch, narrow-minded, bigoted, foolish, unreasonable, intolerant, incompetent, even dangerous. They claim we’ve been left behind, unable to keep up with what they call “truth.” They pride themselves on being more enlightened, more evolved than the simple teachings of Jesus. These worldviews aren’t merely different. They are at war with each other. There’s no middle ground. No compromise between the wisdom of God and the thinking of man. As Scripture says, A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14)
If those words sound familiar, they are the first two paragraphs in the chapter titled Confession in my book Fire It Up and Floor It.
There is no middle ground between God's wisdom and the world's applause. The gospel doesn't evolve with the world. The gospel transforms and outlasts the world.
We confess all kinds of lords in this world without even realizing it. We confess success as lord when we believe our worth depends on achievement. We confess comfort as lord when we rearrange our lives to avoid hardship. We confess popularity as lord when we fear rejection more than we fear God. We confess money, status, image, politics, romance—each one demanding loyalty, each one whispering promises they can’t keep. But none of them can save. None of them endured the cross. None of them walked out of a grave. Only Jesus is Lord. Every other confession is a counterfeit.
Every false lord we confess has an expiration date. Success fades. Comfort gets disrupted. Popularity shifts with the wind. Money loses value. Status is forgotten. Beauty withers. Even the most powerful names in this world will one day be dust.
But Jesus? His reign doesn’t end. His truth doesn’t shift. His promises don’t fail. When every idol crumbles and every counterfeit fades, Christ will still stand. Eternity can't be measured by time, but if it could, Christ would still be Lord a million years from now.
Three simple thoughts.
-
Say it out loud – Speak it boldly: “I believe Jesus is the Son of God.”
-
Stand in it – Don’t flinch when the world rolls its eyes.
-
Share it – Someone you know needs to hear a simple, fearless confession.
Sunday morning at 10 AM, we will take a close look at the prophecies of Daniel and the teachings of Jesus. One thing is certain: when all of the kingdoms of this world fall, God's kingdom will still stand.

So make your confession count. Not just in quiet moments or safe spaces—but in the fire of pressure, the noise of culture, and the silence of doubt. Confess Christ when it's costly. Confess Him when it's lonely. Confess Him because eternity is not built on the shifting sand of public opinion, but on the solid rock of who Jesus is. One day, every tongue will confess and every knee will bow. But today, you get to choose to speak His name on purpose, in faith, and without shame. Let the world call it foolish. We’ll call it truth.
