From Empty Tanks to Burning Hearts
First, sorry you haven't seen an email in a while. I was in a tight spot trying to finish my second book. You can access it here: https://gspch.co/holyspirit
Thanks for being patient with me. We are back on schedule for emails every Thursday at noon.
What if the fire that began in Jerusalem is meant to burn in you today?
Ever feel like you're pressing the pedal harder but going nowhere? That’s what happens when we try to run on empty. But something changes when the Spirit fills the tank. What once was burnout becomes ignition.
The book of Acts doesn’t end with “Amen.” It ends with an open door.
Paul is in Rome—boldly proclaiming Jesus, without hindrance. The Spirit who began at Pentecost didn’t wrap up His work at chapter 28. He’s still writing the story through everyday people, in everyday places, with eternity in mind.
The same Spirit who came as fire now fills vessels like you and me.
He sends us into a world still hungry for light.
-
Some are sent across oceans.
-
Others across the street.
-
Some proclaim with their words.
-
Others with compassion.
-
Some serve through prayer.
-
Others through mercy.
But wherever the Spirit leads, the presence of Christ touches earth again.
That is the miracle: The Spirit doesn’t erase the ordinary. He transforms it.
-
A conversation at a hospital bed becomes holy ground.
-
A meal shared with the lonely becomes a table of grace.
-
A quiet prayer whispered for the broken carries eternal weight.
The kingdom doesn’t advance through spectacle, but surrender.
It transforms creation through lives burning with holy fire.
You were never meant to be a caretaker of a flickering flame. You are uniquely set apart as a carrier of divine fire.
3 Simple Shifts for Spirit-Fueled Living:
-
Refuel Regularly
Stop mistaking spiritual motion for spiritual strength. Make space for the Spirit daily. -
Burn, Don’t Store
Power isn’t given to make us comfortable. It’s given to make us courageous. Use it. -
See the Road Differently
The Spirit changes not just how we live, but how we see. Through His eyes, the ordinary becomes holy ground.
So here’s the question:
Will you carry the flame?
The Spirit hasn’t grown silent. He hasn’t grown weak. He still whispers “Go” to those who will listen, still ignites what once was cold, and still fills hearts ready to burn.
You don’t need a stage.
You don’t need a spotlight.
You just need surrender.
Because when the Spirit fills your life, every moment becomes a mission. Every step becomes sacred. Every yes becomes a spark.
The fire that began in Jerusalem?
It’s not history.
It’s destiny.
And it’s meant to burn in you, right here, right now.
So let the engine of your heart awaken again.
Ask God to fill the tank and light the fire through His Spirit.
